I’m Owen Plagge, a sports photographer from Omaha, Nebraska.

I got into photography through sports, and it didn’t take long for me to realize I liked being behind the camera just as much as watching the game. I like being able to catch moments people don’t always notice in real time.

Over the past couple years, I’ve had the chance to work in some great environments. I’ve shot full seasons with the Omaha Supernovas and Union Omaha, shot a few University of Nebraska Omaha athletic events, and spent time around NCAA events like the Big Ten Baseball Tournament and the Rate Bowl. In April of 2026, I placed 3rd in Action Photography at the NSAA State Journalism Championships (Class A).

I’ve shot a mix of different sports including football, volleyball, soccer, baseball, track and field, and even some swim and dive just to name a few. But no matter what sport I'm shooting, I'm focused on getting the real moments, not just the play, but what happens around it too.

I’ll be continuing at Arizona State University in 2026 studying sports journalism and looking to keep building from there.
